Where Have I Been – Part 2

You may have noticed that the blog and especially our Facebook fan page has been especially quiet lately.  I feel like a negligent mother these days, kind of how I felt when I wrote “Where Have I been – Part 1” back in 2015, only this time it’s not because I haven’t been traveling!

It’s not that I have nothing to blog or talk about, it’s actually quite the opposite.  In fact there will be a whole new section on this blog in the new year outlining what I’ve been doing and how.

But for now, suffice it to say that after 14 years of doing road in Jamaica, tons of research, and trillions of travel dollars spent…..I’m finally starting my own actual business on the island.  And as if that’s not enough I’m also dipping my hand into the opening of a monstrous new guest house down there.

So with those two things sucking up my time in addition to working a regular job here in Canada I just haven’t had the wherewithal in my brain to be a creative blogger at the same time.  As I sit here on my Canadian couch typing this my eyes gaze past the top of my laptop at my living room floor full of product supplies and materials that I can’t even vacuum around.  It’s painfully obvious where my priorities have been the last little while.

With that being said, thank you for your patience with my silence!  I will be heading down to Jamaica at the end of this month to register the business, get a work permit, find a place to live and try to keep some form of sanity in the process.

By the way…..don’t ask me what the business is yet because until I have it registered and possibly trademarked I’m not telling!  But you WILL know about the wicked 8…..yes I said 8 bedroom villa I’m getting off the ground in December.

There.  Now that I’ve said it and put it out to the universe, I have to be committed to it!

Stay tuned!

  2. Kristi OMG !!!! I am so excited and happy for you. I can’t wait to hear about the business. I’d like to think I was a part of the encouraging energy that made you just do it.
Where is the guest house? I’ll be there in January, maybe I can stay there.

  3. Hey Kyra, thank you! I have my fingers crossed for my main business idea. The guest house is totally separate from that but equally as exciting. It’s located on the south coast. Not where typical tourists go but that’s the best part! It’s definitely a one of a kind experience down there. I’ll be at the guest house in a couple of weeks getting photos done to set up marketing stuff for it.

Good Luck, Kristi !!! We are very excited about ,how it will continue with you in the next time.
May be it’s possible to take a look at you and your guesthouse, if we are in the area in February 2017. (un)fortunately we still have booked another accomodations for this time, but next time in Jamaica we would stay with you. By the way- thank you for bringing us Jamaica your way, because thats our way too. Your blog is so helpful for us to plan our 3 week round trip off the beaten path. Thank you also for the possibility to improve my bad Englisch with reading your texts, watching listening your videos and writing some comments.
WE stay tuned to it. Greetings from Switzerland – Doro
