And this was only our FIRST night in this hotel. Hard to believe I only stayed at this one for two nights and I can split it up into at least 6 blog posts, almost all of them with video!
This evening we were enjoying a casual dinner before heading out when we came upon the most pleasant duo of restaurant staff. As you will see in the video, Andrew wasn’t shy at all about being on video. We were challenged to ask him a particular question about short men in Jamaica. The question is, “Is it true that short men tear sheets?” The answer turned into a full minute-thirty on video and involved some conversation about Shades nightclub in Ocho Rios. For those of you who don’t know what Shades is, Google it because I’m not going to tell you! Okay I will – it’s a freak show. Nuff said. And for those of you who don’t understand the question, I can’t even explain it without acting it out.
As it turns out, Andrew lived a few doors down from my chill spot in Faukland. Small world! And we only found that out because we told him we were going to Faukland after dinner that night. He was quite surprised to hear we were going into that community for a night out but nevertheless, we did end up seeing him later on.
We had a lot of fun at this dinner and again the next morning at the same place for breakfast. This video was the starting point of me losing my voice permanently for three days following and the restaurant staff whipped up a mean lime juice and honey for throat problems. It’s unfortunate I got so sick while staying in such a nice place because it really ruined my enjoyment and my job. I couldn’t speak at all.
But anyway! More video blog posts coming! It’s just about finding the time to edit…this one I was lucky I didn’t have to.
