Jamaican Drummer Boy
Nathaniel is two years old and doesn’t even speak yet, but he’s got coordination most adults don’t have. He comes by his talent naturally since his uncle and his mother are drummers so he’d been listening to beats even before he was born. As I sat and watched this little one I couldn’t believe what he could make his four limbs do at the same time. Pretty remarkable. Apparently he’s very welcome and popular at Rastafarian nyabinghi drum sessions.
My goal is to get this child his own drumsticks and a drum set the right size for his body to make playing much easier for him. I can just imagine what he would sound like if he had a chair to sit on!
