Portland Marina – Port Antonio

I FINALLY got a chance to visit Jamaica’s east coast, which I’ve been wanting to do for the last few years.  I got to several spots in Portland but this post will cover the marina.  What a beautiful place to just hang out and chill!

The whole property surrounding the marina was so beautiful….very well manicured with a nice pathway and a huge dock.  I was impressed!

marina trees

The day I went there were PLENTY of kids out and about here.  A whole field full of them playing soccer and about ten of them messing around on the dock.  I have to admit this is always my favorite thing to see are the kids having fun.

Once they saw we all had cameras hey went into high gear and started performing LOL.  Nothing ever shy about Jamaican youth, they all want to be in the spotlight and don’t mind giving their audience a show!  I honestly wish I had my swim suit on here because it was hot and watching them made me jealous!!

  1. Great pictures. Portland is one of the nicer parishes and well worth a visit.Did you visit Winifred Beach? Its well known amongst the locals but very hard to find even so, its well worth a visit. Perhaps next time?

  2. amazing pics..
Even i love that place and the beaches.

  3. I Love Port Antonio and also had the pleasure of visiting there this August. We didn’t head to the marina, however we did go for a swim at Winnifred Beach. This beach is used by the locals and is the last beach in the area for them, the government is trying to take it from them to use for resorts..boooooo
It’s a lovely beach and would be a crying shame if lost to resorts.
There is a web-site dedicated to saving the beach as the local residents of course use it to sell there wares and simply to enjoy with their families.
