This is another re-post from the ones that I lost a while back
Canoe restaurant in Negril is definitely worth writing about and definitely worth visiting! The suggestion to eat here came from my good friend Alice who lives in Negril, and a group of my forum friends from all over North America were meeting this afternoon for lunch and a sunset. Alice recommended it because the price is right, the food is GREAT and its literally about 20 feet from the water!

Canoe restaurant is on West End road in Negril, on the right hand side BEFORE you start heading up to the cliffs. If you blink you’d almost miss it from the road, but once you get inside its a great size! It has an outdoor dining deck which is where we gathered, and the area comfortably seated our large group of around 8 people. And from our seat on the outer deck I could see the inside of the restaurant as well but I never did venture inside.

The menu was extensive with a huge selection and it seemed an abundance of seafood! As you can see also the prices are great, one of the only places left where you can get a Red Stripe for $100 JMD! I had the grilled veggie sandwich and it was very good.

For those who ordered barbecued or grilled food they got to watch it cooking since the chef did it up right on the barbecue beside us. Smelled great!
We totally enjoyed our afternoon, our waitress was great…..really friendly and fun. She offered us great service, compared to some places I’ve dined in Jamaica. Usually time is NOT of the essence there but she was always available and quick. The restaurant had no problems with the amount of time we spent there, I think we stayed about 5 hours since we decided to wait around til sunset. I think this was one of the best parts…..being able to watch the fabulous Negril sunset without having to change venues.

Hey girl. Retiring (woo hoo!) at end of March and intend to take a short trip to Negril (7th visit to Jamrock) as soon possible–probably April or May, with a longer visit to follow later. See you on the beach.
